Change Makers on a Mission

These girls are on fire. Each one of them.
"Wouldn't it be so great if Mama Lucy could attend the European Summit for Global Transformation in the Netherlands with Innocent and me?" Jen asked me in one of the classrooms at Shepherds Junior School. There it was... that look. Who says no to that question? Who says no to these women? A flurry of phone calls and a few conversations later, Mama Lucy, the founder of Shepherds Junior School, is beaming. She wants to go. She's left Tanzania only once.
"You are meant for the world," Jen Lemen tells her. "You have so much to share." And it's true. She is. And she does. So Jen left her rolling suitcase with Mama Lucy. "Here, you can keep this. You'll need it for your trip." I can't describe the look in Mama Lucy's eyes at this gesture. It's one of disbelief and belief. It's one of pride and humility. We leave Tanzania with unanswered questions, and fistfuls of hope.
Since that day, Jen's been orchestrating this mission to get Mama Lucy to the Summit. There are visas to acquire. There are arrangements to be made. There are transit challenges. There are costly airline tickets to purchase. There is little money. Perhaps you can help send Mama Lucy on this mission? Email Jen at jen.lemen@gmail.com.

Oh my goodness this is so exciting! So many young people with schools and camps and other programs with kids will be there... Mama Lucy will be an Elder with so much wisdom to share!
Can't wait to see you there.
just sent an email- I would love to see this happen and am honored to help in anyway that I can! You are a pleasure to follow my friend :)
Gosh, you ladies are just so amazing. I gave what I can. Which is not much at the moment, but it was given with my heart.
You all are a force to be reckoned with!
