Beside the Road

The school bus dropped us off on the left side of the road and we started our walk to Mama Lucy's home and the nursery school classrooms, including one room that was once a chicken coop. We hadn't had much of an opportunity to walk in Arusha as our hotel, Le Jacaronda, was located a good fifteen minute drive from Shepherd's Junior School. Entrepreneurs such as this woman are common along the streets in Arusha. You might also see a woman grilling corn on the cob, men's dress pants and colorful African wraps sold from tree limbs, a few random chickens or a rooster, and women effortlessly hauling bundles of laundry or water jugs on their heads.

The woman's apron makes this perfect... :)
I've enjoyed following your mission stories! Love the entrepreneur focus here. It's a small, small world when she in Arusha is wearing an apron straight from Schnucks (a family-owned local grocery) in St. Louis, MO!
I love getting these glimpses into their world, thank you, I love the angle of this photo!
