When I turned the corner to discover this scene, my heart leaped. Ahhhh. The truth. Real life displayed in all its gritty detail and magical splendor. Evidence of worthy and honest lives. Yes, this is where I like to be.

For several years, I've had this desire to create a series of images from barbershops in small southern towns. While the visual details and clientele would vary from scene to scene, I'm certain there's a sameness. A rythm to the entries, connections and exits in the space.
